Quick Note of Reassurance I'm fine, Husband and Daughter and Chow are all fine -- house is standing, there's a little bit of water in the basement (the joys of home-ownership!) and I'll have to do a ton of laundry over because I was stupid and didn't bring it upstairs right away... we really lucked out last night, because apparently there were funnel clouds all around the area and a couple touched down across the river. Zzzzzzzz....zzzzzzz.....zzzzzzzz..... Third PT session this morning and now I'm achey and sleepy; but it's getting better.... I think.....the shoulder, I mean, not the sleepyness -- which is a combined blaming on Bel, who didn't want to go out last night while it was raining but come 4:30 am and NO rain and it's all 'MOM! OUT NOW! Time for a Change.... Dearest boy, I will always love you, wherever you are (Daughter, bless her heart, insists that you are in Vegas, with Elvis!)and I treasure the production still that Daughter gave me for Mother's Day with yours and Jake's autographs in purple marker (even though I am well aware that it's probably an e-bay forgery).... But, it's June and time for a new Default Icon. Maybe 'Janine' in celebration of the report that a Real Ghostbusters DvD box set is finally on the way? Monday I start Physical Therapy for my Shoulder/Arm -- I really hope it will help, because I'm tired of having a bum arm that HURTS when I stretch to empty the clothes dryer, use the drive-thrus at the bank and fast foods, and hook Bel up to her tie-out, etc. Speaking of Bel, we put up a child-gate on the front porch and she loves it when the gate is up and the door is open and she can go outside and bark at the passers-by. I need to finish planting my railing boxes -- marigolds, impatiens, and this colorful spiky flower that reminds me of lupines but they aren't. Hopefully the lavender will have a growth spurt soon and I can add them to the boxes as well. Haven't really been in the mood for writing; plus I'm stuck on how to get from the end of chapter two to the start of chapter four of "Paths" -- which reminds me to go check out Frenziedpanda7's new story at the Vole Pit and leave a comment! Free Floating Apparitions, er, Associations - FTW! OKay, earlier today I left a comment on a friend's LJ, basically wishing her a good time at the fan convention she just arrived at, and asking her to say hello to 'the gang' for me, especially Peter if he was attending. A little bit of background: several years ago I was fairly active fannishly in several different fandoms, most notably Real Ghostbusters, Highlander:TS, and the StarWars LARP group at Media*WestCON. People who rarely saw each other except for at MWC but who communicated via smail-mail, letterzines, YAHOO-Lists/Groups, forming unlikely but enduring friendships, yadda yadda yadda.... Update on Shoulder Thing... Doctor's office just called -- the MRI scans show inflammation in the joint (NO! Say it ain't SO....*insert sarcasm HERE*... Ya Think?) and wants to set up a four-week Physical Therapy routine, schedule to be hashed out by me and PT's office sometime later today... well, I suppose so. If you really think it will help.... And the Good news is....
By the time I went to bed last night, I pretty much had my left arm back. And this morning *cue Twilight Zone music* it felt ALMOST back to pre-winter spills and chills normal. Almost. Go figure. Maybe all the thing really needs is a couple of days immobilization so it can heal? Which would have been impossible three months ago with half the moving still to be done (end of Feb.) but just might be doable now that every thing's pretty much done except for the furniture still out in the garage. I have two and a half weeks of vacation left; the question, as always, is when to schedule for the LEAST amount of disruption at work....
WHY oh WHY did they have to schedule "INDYLANDER" for the weekend of Daughter's birthday? Not even for Stan and Peter will I dare to miss da Kid's big One-Eight!!!!!
But Indianapolis is only a six-hour drive.....
But the Hotel rooms cost $150 per night!
But, it's Stan and Peter, and Elizabeth Gracen....and Clan Denial/Richie-List!
It's Daughter's birthday. 'Nuff said.

Ra Bast Anubis and Set -- THAT HURTZZZZZZZ!!!! Owwie owwie owwie -- one of those times when the diagnostic procedure hurt more than the original injury EVER did!!!!!!!! The doctor injected the contrast dye into my left shoulder joint....oh my effing Jack TWist THAT HURTTTTTTTT!!!!!!! I could barely move my arm afterwards and THEN into the MRI tube for forty effing five minutes while the machinery took photos and I listened to thumps, bumps, whirrrs, grinding noises that if they came from my car would send me straight to the mechanics, and Chrsitian Rock.... Pain pain pain all up and down my left arm.... I could move and position it using my right hand but ow ow ow ow....... Left arm pretty much useless for the rest of the day, thank GHOD for automatic transmission and power steering, Ibuprophen and Vicoden are my new best friends. I can still do stuff with my right hand, and my range of motion is slowly getting better on the left, maybe by tomorrow I'll be able to raise my left hand higher that my waist (sitting or standing) again without wincing, screaming or swearing under my breath. Definately NOT cooking tonight -- gonna be take out or let Hubby /Daughterr display THEIR limited culinary skills. Keep in mind that this was the Diagnostic Procedure, NOT the repair operation/Physical Therapy that will probably result from said Diagnostics.... Busy Busy Day!!! Today is "Run Errands Day" -- doctor's appointments for daughter, myself and Bel, visits to the DMV to get my home address changed on my Driver's License and the County title and license office to find out the procedure for transferring the title for the Mobile home to new owner --- took a down payment last night, Caloo calay! Nice young couple, energetic, working and going to community college, planning to get married in August, and willing to put a little repair work into the trailer. Husband is going back up this evening to make sure the water connections are solid -- just wish I could've brought the lilac bush with us, but Ms. Amanda was thrilled to see it in bloom last night, so I guess it was a selling point. TOMORROW I AM GOING TO VEGETATE AND RECHARGE!!!!!!! WOOT!!!!!! ETA at 2:41 pm -- Doctor says it's most likely a torn rotator cup, from the shoulder's current range of motion and the fact that it's still painful a good two months after the last time I fell and used that arm to try to catch myself. Need to have an MRI to determine the extent of the damage and treatment, but it'll be about two weeks before they can get me in. Meanwhile, I have a prescription and orders to be careful, no heavy lifting with my left arm, etc. Bummer.... at least the moving is done -- it's all unpacking from here on in.... except for the sofas.... shit! *sigh* *Head-desks* meh. Just so Effing Tired.... I've been holding things together for the past six months -- work, the house, family, dog.... I'm in pain and I'm tired of doing EVERYTHING -- packing, unpacking, taking daughter to school, taking daughter to the doctor to try ONE MORE EFFING TIME to find out WHY she gets sick so often, I'm tired of postponing my time off YET AGAIN because other people's concerns are more important than the fact that I'm so burnt out that I'm barely functioning, I'm tired of trying to sell the effing trailer while my husband just sits and bitches about having to pay another month's lot rent --- YES, he broke his hip last December, but why the heck couldn't he pick up the phone and do some of this MONTHS ago????
